Besties - Fun fold featuring the Ruby collection

 Hi everyone,

It`s time for a new challenge over at the Polkadoodles challenge blog and I`m excited to share my card with you today. The DT inspirational theme for this weeks challenge was friendship using images from the Ruby collection. The timing for this theme came perfect for me since one of my closest friend is born in August.

For my card I used two images from the Ruby collection, flipping one of them so the direction of the girls standing together came out right. I placed one of the images slightly overlapping the dress of the other to make it more natural looking and more pleasing to the eye. The digistamps I used are Ruby Oo-la-la and Ruby Frou Frou and as usual I colored them up with my Copic markers.

Copic colores I used, listed from light to dark:

Ruby Oo-la-la:

Skin: E000-00-21-11-04, R20

Hair E21-25-49

Outfit: BG10-11-13-49   (I went lightly over with BG 70-72 to mute down the color)

           RV32-34

Ruby Frou Frou:

Skin: E000-00-21-11-13-04, R20, RV42

Hair: 53-43-57-59-49

Outfit: B32-34-99-39

           RV32-34

I made my card into a pop up Z- flod card and at the pop up I used the sentiment Besties that`s from the Winny daisy sentimet bundle. Perfect for my card!

I hope you liked my card and that you got inspired to create yourself a happy day crafting too.

Why don`t you head on over and join in on the fun over at the Polkadoodles challenge blog this week. Thank you for stopping by.

Theatre inspired confirmation card

 Hi everyone,

Today I`m sharing a confirmation card I made for a son of some friends confirmation last weekend. I`m so happy with how this card turned out.

I made the card into a double gate fold card, getting the inspiration from the theatre curtains opening up to begin the show. This young man loves the theatre and is also a talented actor at the local youth theatre, so that`s where I got the inspiration for the theme of the card.

For the card front, I used an old paper from KaisercraftsOn Stage collection. The striped blue paper is a digital pattern paper from Polkadoodle Gnome music bundle. The pattern paper with blue stars is from Papirdesign. The edge star die from Tim Holtz are cut out in black glitter paper and I used the same die and just cut the stars into smaller pieces to decorate inside my card making sure to place them as to help guide the eyes across the card.

This sentiment is from Papirdesign and it says: "Some people make the world special just by being in it".

The pictures are printed to the desired size at home and the main one is placed in an Insta frame that I stamped and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The sentiment says: "You are amazing".

On the backside of the card, there is a nice space to write a personal note.

I love how this card turned out, and thank you for letting me post this card here on my blog with pictures in it.

Thank you for stopping by.

Hugs,

-Christine💮

Absolutely the best mom ever

 Hi everyone,

Today I have some really exciting news to share. I`m so happy to have joined in on the Polkadoodles design team! I have been loving to play along on their challenge blog for a while, so why don`t you head over and  play along too?

For this weeks challenge I have made two cards. Mother`s Day is around the corner in many European contries and also in the USA, so here is some inspiration for you. For my first card I chose this cute Butterfly Tree Fairy and colored her up with my Copic markers. For my pattern paper I used three different sheets from the Alcea Hollyhock Flowers bundle.

This was actually my first time using digital papers, and I must say I really like to use them. Not difficult at all. I printed them with my non fancy Canon Pixima printer on 120 gsm copy paper. I just used HP color choise 120 gsm that I got from my local bookstore. What I like is that you can scale your paper to size befor you print it or you can choose to scale the paper bigger than you actually need and the pattern on your paper will increase all depending on how big you want your pattern to be. I believe the paper is originally designed for 8*8 inch printing, but for most part I printed the paper to my desired layer size.

The sentiment is from Spring Flower-Mothers Day-Friend sentiments bundle.

Copic colors I used:

Skin: E04-11-21-00-000, R20
Hair: E49-59-44-43
Outfit and wings: BG49-13-000
Shoes: W5-3-1
Butterflies: R05-22-30-11 Y00-11
BG49-13-000-0000 Y11-00
YR:02-000
Plant and Leaf: E49 G99-94 YG03
Pot: E43-44
Ground W5-3-1

To make this fun fold card I followed a tutorial from Wendy Lee on Youtube

My second card is a personal one, this is the card I made for my mom`s birthday earlier this month. I found this super cute and versatile digital stamp from Polkadoodles Winnie - Missed You a while ago and just had to have it. So I have been saving it`s first time use for this card.

The pattern papers I used are from the Pretty Winnie Daisy collection. The sentiment is from the same bundle as my last card, Spring Flower-Mothers Day-Friend sentiments.

Copic colors I used to color up my image:

Skin: E04-13-11-21-00-000, R20
Hair: W7-5-3-1
Outfit: R89-85-83-81                                                                                                  B99-97-95-93-91

Skin 2: E13-11-21-00-000 R22
Hair 2: E29-25-23-21
Outfit 2: G46-43-21                                                                                                        B97- 95-93-91

I decided to make a box frame card to frame this lovely image and sentiment. Since this will be a hand out card, I didn`t worry about the 1/4 inch bulk of the frame. If mailed, I would sturdy the envelope with some thin cardboard or make a small box to go with the card.

Birthdaycard and fun surprise pop up ball giftbox

 Hi,

Today I`m back to share a gate fold card with bellyband and a matching gift box with surprise pop up balls that I made for my sons birthday.

It was finally time to use these gorgeous papers from Wild Rose Studio, Man About Town that I have been hoarding for years.

For my cards closure I made a belly band and popped up the scallup circle aswell as my sentiment on pop up dots to add some dimension and a little intrest. I added som Ranger stickles in Black diamond that have glitter in it. The birthday sentiment is in norwegian from Kort & Godt (M-180) On the inside a stamped an old sentiment that I love and find so beautiful. Its from Bildmålarne but I don`t think it`s available anymore.

I kept the gift box plane on the outside, just decorated it with the pattern paper. I used some black ribbon for my pull to open the box.

My son just moved to do a one year " Soccer in Europe" on a boarding school. He has always loved to play soccer and when I went to Karen Burnistons YT channel to see how to assemble my new pop up ball die, I got inspired to do a surprise football pop up balls gift box when I saw a snowball in a box assemble tutorial. This was so fun to gift and my son loved it and found it very cool.

Inside the box I made a little pocket where you can put a gift card, money or a tag to write a personal message.

And here is a small clip from our birthday picknick outside his school opening the pop up ball gift box.
