Quick and fun birthday cards perfect for kids birthday party

Hi, and welcome back to my blog in 2024.

Today I have some quick and fun birthday cards to share that I made for my son to gift to some friends at school who celebrated their birthday together. I like to make the cards similar just playing around with colors and pattern papers when multiple kids celebrate together. These cards are quick to make, and you can easily replicate the idea using different shapes for your card base.

I used the biggest star from the nesting star set and cut out a star as my card front. For my card base, I scored and folded my cardstock leaving the tip of the star die outside my cutting plates on the folded edge so that the star shape is partially cut, making it a foldable shaped card. Then I glued the star ontop to get a whole star shaped card.

I kept the card design very basic since they probably will be thrown away right away - I mean that`s fine, they are 7/8 year old boys. But since my son is gifting money I just wanted to put it in something a little extra for him to hand out. The circle birthday sentiment is from Kort og Godt and is backed on some scalloped circles for added interest. On the blue cards, the sentiment is heat embossed in silver, and for the other pattern paper I used gold embossing powder from Simon Says Stamp.

Sweet blossom - Shaped card

Hi,

I have been enjoying myself with some Copic coloring and had fun finally putting this layered shaped card together. We are still taking things slow at the cabin so I actually had the papers for this card die cut at home before we went on our vecation. I`m kind of impressed with my planning ahead....๐Ÿ˜œ

Since I`m still on a mission to use up papers from my stash I found this pretty paper from Maja Design, "a day in May"  from an older collection for my first layer and a pattern paper with flowers and butterflies from Papirdesign for my second layer.

The papers are so pretty and together with my colored image Sweet blossom from Whimsy stamps this card turned out super cute I think.

I used foam dots to add some dimension to my card. The butterflies are cut out from another pattern paper and the flowers are from WOC. I made a small bow with some pink seambinding.

Shaped easel card

 Hello everyone,

I am enjoying the rest of our summer holiday at our family cabin by the sea. I did bring some (read: a lot..) of craft supplies with me, but I completly forgot to bring any embellishment for my cards. But we work with what we got, right?

Our neighbour here just turned 80 years and she has the most lovely garden and I`ve learned so much from her and her love of gardening each summer here at the cabin.. So I wanted to make her a birthday card with this sweet stamp Little Darlings - CandiBean - Sunflower Daisy (bikuben.com) that I think fits perfectly to someone who loves to spend time gardening. I used my Copic markers to color the image. This stamp is on 70% sale at Bikuben right now.

I cut out my cardbase and pattern paper at home so I just had to adhere the layers after I was done coloring the super cute image. The pattern paper are poped up using foam dots. Easel cards are one of my favorit card folds to make as you can display them very nicely but also lay them flat if you dont use any big embellishment on the card.

For my stoppers I cut out some leaves from the pattern paper and used som foam dots to add some dimension. Again using papers I`ve had for years, this sheet is from the stunning Mariposa paper pack. I also cut off a single flower from an artificial plant here at the cabin just to add a little something at my cardbase ( sorry mom, I promise you can`t see it ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ‘ผ๐Ÿ˜…)
