Masculine card - Sir Vagabond in Japan

 Hi,

Today I`m sharing a masculine card made out of the amazing papers Sir Vagabond in Japan from Stamperia. I fussy cut my focal point from the Collectables pack and I just love the look of the samurai used on this card.

The background is also from the same collectable paper pad. I stamped the film strip using Stamperias Create happiness leaves and movie stamp set and cut out the pictures from the papers. The circular birthday sentiment stamp is from Papirdesign. To finish of my card I used some black glitter stickles from Ranger but the sparkle doesn`t show up that well on the pictures I think.

I love how this card turned out and I hope you like it as much as I do.

Sweet blossom - Shaped card

Hi,

I have been enjoying myself with some Copic coloring and had fun finally putting this layered shaped card together. We are still taking things slow at the cabin so I actually had the papers for this card die cut at home before we went on our vecation. I`m kind of impressed with my planning ahead....😜

Since I`m still on a mission to use up papers from my stash I found this pretty paper from Maja Design, "a day in May"  from an older collection for my first layer and a pattern paper with flowers and butterflies from Papirdesign for my second layer.

The papers are so pretty and together with my colored image Sweet blossom from Whimsy stamps this card turned out super cute I think.

I used foam dots to add some dimension to my card. The butterflies are cut out from another pattern paper and the flowers are from WOC. I made a small bow with some pink seambinding.

Feels like summer - Art journal with magazine cut outs

 Hello everyone,

I hope you are doing well 😊

Today I`m sharing a quick update with you on a new art journal page. This time created with magazine cut outs from some old magazines here from our cabin. We were expecting some rainy days so I was going through what we had of old magazines and newspapers so that my 6 year old son and I could play and create during these days.

When I saw  this week "We`re going around in circles" challenge over at Simon Says Stamp I actually cheated and made this page while we still had some good weather because I think all the slices with kiwi fits the theme perfectly in a summer vibe way. CKN Design- create happy days crafting (@ckndesign_craft) • Instagram-bilder og -videoer

The background is made with distress inks in tumbled glass, peacock feathers and faded jeans applyed randomly. I then sprayed with some water to lift off some ink with a paper towel to create some texture. Then I used Tim Holtz stencil dod fade, that I absolutely love, with faded jeans ink.

Next I stamped randomly around my page using two different stamps from Stamperias Create happiness stamp set in faded jeans and peacock feathers.

I used modpodge to glue down my magazine cut outs also covering everything with a thin layer so that everything got the same finnish and it also makes it possible to play with different inks ontop.

Then I used a letter stamp set from Papirdesign (PD 2100365) and stamped "summer" with jet black Archival ink from Ranger. I wrote "time" with a black pen doodling in the letters using Tim Holtz Bubble stencil. You can just freehand this but I was enjoying myself and went with the stencil and filling in with my black pen. I used a black marker to add a frame to the pages and also added some white gel pen and added some black outline here and there on my page.

Under the sea - Mixed media Art journal page

 Hi,

Todays art journal page is inspired by the ocean and all the beauty that lives there.

I got to try out my new Lindys magical and wow they truly are magical. A little goes a long way and the colors are just stunning! I got the Words of wisdom set and for my background I sprinkeld a bit of "commit to it teal" and "just be kind cobolt" and sprayed water on it to blend the colors.

Then I used a bit of Dylusions White shimmer paint on Tim Holtz Bubbles stencil and I love the effect I achieved.  I used a script stamp and a small circular stamp with Distress ink "faded jeans" and stamped randomly around the page. I also went around the edges with "faded jeans" and "black soot" distress ink to darken and frame the page.

Next I glued down some circles that I cut out from a Memory box die, and also the jellyfish die from an old Magnolia magazine.

I used the words discover, timless and magic from Big Chat from Tim Holtz Ideaology and I think they are perfect for life under the sea.

I added my finishing touches with a white Sakura gel pen and my new favorit black pen Pilot G-tec-c4, and splattered drops of black soot over the page and addede some Ranger stickles to the jellyfish to give them some sparkle.

Shaped easel card

 Hello everyone,

I am enjoying the rest of our summer holiday at our family cabin by the sea. I did bring some (read: a lot..) of craft supplies with me, but I completly forgot to bring any embellishment for my cards. But we work with what we got, right?

Our neighbour here just turned 80 years and she has the most lovely garden and I`ve learned so much from her and her love of gardening each summer here at the cabin.. So I wanted to make her a birthday card with this sweet stamp Little Darlings - CandiBean - Sunflower Daisy (bikuben.com) that I think fits perfectly to someone who loves to spend time gardening. I used my Copic markers to color the image. This stamp is on 70% sale at Bikuben right now.

I cut out my cardbase and pattern paper at home so I just had to adhere the layers after I was done coloring the super cute image. The pattern paper are poped up using foam dots. Easel cards are one of my favorit card folds to make as you can display them very nicely but also lay them flat if you dont use any big embellishment on the card.

For my stoppers I cut out some leaves from the pattern paper and used som foam dots to add some dimension. Again using papers I`ve had for years, this sheet is from the stunning Mariposa paper pack. I also cut off a single flower from an artificial plant here at the cabin just to add a little something at my cardbase ( sorry mom, I promise you can`t see it 🧡👼😅)

Stairway to heaven

 Hi,

The Mixed media Art journal page I`m sharing today was actually finished ower a week ago but since the screen on my phone is broken and I forgot the charger to my laptop on the cabin I had to wait to upload it until we came back here.

So on the 25th of June it was 8 years since Tim passed away and I wanted to make an Art journal page about the loss of a loved family member and also my best friend.

For my background I used acrylic paint in two shades of blue, a touch of purple and some white applied with a dry flat brush. I used some modeling paste and this beautiful stencil from Tim Holtz called Crossed on the top and bottom of my page. Next I used a script and a circle stamp from Stamperia and stamped randomly around the page to add some interest to my background. I used a more muted mat black ink pad, I think its called midnight sky or something. I will check when I get home. I love the muted effect this ink has and how it was perfect for my heavenly sky. I also darkened the edges on my page as to frame it and make my focalpoint pop more.

My first idea to this Art journal page was to print out the girl letting go of the red balloon from Banksy`s street art and having her stand on top of a stairway to heavnen. When Stamperia came out with the Vintage library collection and I saw the page with this stair I knew this was perfect for my page. But no laptop no printing so I decided to do things a bit different and used a La la Land Wings die that I cut out in a blue-grey cardstock and a bling white one and placed them on top of each other.

The flowers are from Stamperias Blue dream Ephemera pack and the sentiment is a mix of hand writing and for the word heaven i used an alphabet stamp from Papirdesign and just stamped it on a yellow post it note and teared the edges. I used Stickles from Ranger on the flowers and on the dots in the middle of the stencil to add som bling and sparkle to my page.

In loving memory :                          Tim Nandrup-Johansen
                                                 23th. May 1964 to 25th. June 2015

I`m really happy about how this Art journal page turned out, this page means so much to me 💗         So I`m glad I was able to get it up here even if it got uploaded a little late.

Thank you for stopping by,
